All classes held at Shaftesbury Fitness Studio are in the 3rd Column under SFS. All other classes are held around the corner at 14a Wincombe Business Park at TLW Dance new premises.

ADULT CLASSES

MONDAYS

  • 10.30-11.30am – FITNESS YOGA – Lynne – Mixed Level

    This yoga class encompasses all areas of yoga.  It is not a class to create the perfect posture but a class to work within your body’s own limits and capabilities.  Students will gain the benefits of each posture but the class goal is to flow and create calm and relaxation.  Hopefully, you will leave feeling re-energised, stretched and in time stronger. Beginners Welcome.

    What to wear/bring…

    Any comfortable fitness clothing, layers advisable to keep you warm
    Bare feet / Yoga socks (or similar)
    Yoga mats provided however you are welcome to bring your own
    Water bottle to keep you hydrated


TUESDAYS

  • 6.00-7.00pm – PILATES – Suzie – Mixed Level

    STOTT Pilates® mind-body exercise builds on the essence and principles of Joseph Pilates’ work by incorporating modern knowledge about the body.  The repertoire of exercises consists of Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced level so each exercise can be adapted to suit your own personal experience, fitness/strength and individual ability. The exercises are all designed to help optimal musculoskeletal performance – strength, flexibility and endurance – without risking injury or bulk.  With a focus on core stability, including pelvic and shoulder girdle stabilisation, neutral alignment and breathing, this method of exercise also help to restore the natural curves of the spine, relieve tension and enhance self-confidence. revitalised and moves with ease.

    What to wear/bring…
    Any comfortable fitness clothing, layers advisable to keep you warm
    Bare feet
    Yoga mats provided however you are welcome to bring your own
    Water bottle to keep you hydrated

WEDNESDAYS

  • 8.00-9.00pm – ADULT TAP – Wednesdays with Erica – Mixed Level

    A lively fun class, with a range of tap exercises and routines to varying music styles. Develop technique, rhythm and musicality. A great way to keep fit whilst having fun dancing! Easier and harder variations to each exercise and sequence previous tap experience to work alongside each other in a mixed ability class.

    What to wear/bring…
    Any comfortable fitness/dance clothing
    Tap Shoes or hard soled shoes (Limited spare shoes available to borrow)
    Water bottle to keep you hydrated

 

THURSDAYS

  • 9.30-10.30am – Adult Ballet – Felicity – Intermediate Level

    This ballet class is suitable for those with previous ballet experience, through to those of a more advanced standard. This class will follow the RAD developing repertoire level 2 syllabus. Uniquely, it includes well-known classical repertoire from Coppélia and Giselle, meaning students will learn and dance choreography that they have seen on the stage, set to music that they know and love. (Equivalent to RAD grade 5/ intermediate foundation syllabus). To find out more please visit the RAD website.

  • 6.30-7.30pm FLOWETIC – Emma – Mixed Level

    Flowetic® is a beautiful class combining dance, toning and strengthening exercises alongside stretching and relaxation. It will provide fitness and well-being for the body and mind, suitable for all levels of fitness and dance experience. Beginners Welcome.

    What to wear/bring…
    Any comfortable fitness clothing, layers advisable to keep you warm during the stretch and relaxation section
    Bare feet
    Yoga mats provided however you are welcome to bring your own
    Water bottle to keep you hydrated

 

  • 7.30-8.30pm – Adult Ballet – Felicity – Mixed Level

    Whether you have no previous experience to those who have danced before our mixed ability class combines all of the elements of a traditional ballet class with a combination barre exercises and centre practice to improve posture, flexibility, muscle tone and musicality. Depending upon your previous experience this class will have various options and developments throughout the course of a term so that you can work and develop at your own pace.

    What to wear/bring…
    Any comfortable fitness/ballet clothing that you can dance in
    Ballet Shoes or ankle socks
    Water bottle to keep you hydrated

Do I need to book…

  • July and August – Classes will not require booking please just come along
  • From September 2019 – All classes will require signing up for via the TLW Dance Portal – You will then be able to drop in either on a pay as you go basis or on a discounted monthly payment scheme.
