Erica Phillips

Company Director

Erica is the Company Director at Shaftesbury Fitness Studio. Erica trained at Merseyside Dance and Drama Centre alongside studying in Theatrical Costume in Liverpool and worked for theatre/television after graduation whilst continuing to study to become a fitness professional. Working within the fitness industry since 1999, Erica worked for a variety of independent and large health club chains, leisure centres and dance schools across the UK as a studio co-ordinator, duty manager, fitness/personal trainer, freelance fitness and dance teacher.

Erica’s qualifications include Exercise to Music, Fitness Trainer, Personal Trainer, Dance Teacher and Nutritional Therapist with teaching experience spanning over 19 years teaching Nike’s Dance Workout, New York City Ballet Workout, Classical Ballet, Tap Dance, Street Dance, Les Mills Fitness programs including Body Pump, RPM and Body Balance along with Rachel Homes Fitness Pilates and Fitness Yoga.

Combining her dance/costume experience, Erica also ran an Adult Dance Company and worked as a graphic designer for a property developer over a 7 year period in Greater Manchester. After re-locating to Dorset, Erica continued to study with The Judith Hockaday School of Dance to become a DDE qualified ISTD Tap Teacher and Flowetic Dance Instructor with Just Dance UK.

Unfortunately, Erica has had to take time out from teaching due to a complicated foot injury however will still be working in the background to provide a wide variety of classes that can inspire, motivate and challenge the perception of exercise to make it enjoyable and fun for everyone!

Tiffany Longley-Wolff


Tiffany trained through a scholarship at London Studio Centre and went on to perform professionally in the UK and Europe. With a passion for teaching, Tiffany has taught and choreographed across Europe including Greece, Southern Italy and the UK at renowned dance schools such as the London Studio Centre, Liberatus School of Performing Arts, Bodyworks and the Aberdeen International Arts Festival. Tiffany is the Principal at TLW Dance and teaches RAD Ballet, Jazz Technique and Contemporary classes alongside running the TLW Dance Company and is currently finalising her training to become a mentor for trainee teachers. Tiffany is looking forward to bringing her years of dance training into the world of fitness.

Lynne Stratton

Co-Founder / Yoga Instructor

Lynne studied Sport Science and Administration at Nottingham Trent University.  Graduating in 1999 Lynne went straight into a career in the health club industry where she continued to study as a Personal Trainer. Lynne later became involved in the sales and management side and continued to work within the health and fitness industry for 11 years. Lynne enjoys keeping fit, and is exploring a new found love of yoga, gaining her Hatha Yoga teaching qualification in 2011 and Pre and Post Natal Yoga in 2013.  Her goal is to make yoga available to all the family and currently studying the wonderful world of children’s yoga. Lynne will be teaching Fitness Yoga at Shaftesbury Fitness Studio passing on her wealth of knowledge to all our members.

Felicity Wilson

Ballet Instructor

Felicity trained at Elmhurst Ballet School before changing direction to pursue a career as a barrister. Her love of dance carried on, however, and she continued studying with various teachers in London. When she and her family moved to the South West Felicity began taking classes with Tiffany Longley at TLW Dance. Felicity has found a new love of teaching at TLW Dance in the last few years, introducing a new adult ballet class, as well as assisting with various children’s ballet grades. Felicity will now be sharing her knowledge of ballet at Shaftesbury Fitness Studio with a variety of adult ballet classes.

Caroline Pickett

Zumba Instructor

Caroline’s has a background in care based in a children’s hospital and more recently in drug and alcohol addiction. She has always enjoyed fitness through the gym, running and cycling however it wasn’t until she attended her first Zumba® class that her passion kicked in. Caroline has been an instructor since 2012 and has qualified in a variety of their fitness programs and teaches across the area. For Caroline their is nothing like teaching Zumba®, it makes her feel amazing to see a class getting fit and having so much fun at the same time.

Emma-Leigh Pike

Dance Instructor

Emma has been dancing since the age of 4 studying ballet, jazz, tap, modern and contemporary all through TLW Dance. Emma then moved on to study Musical Theatre at the University of Chichester. During her time at University, she worked on fitness training taking part in a variety of workout classes including circuits, HIIT and Zumba. Since graduating, Emma has worked in Portugal and Spain, as well as touring the UK performing musicals. In 2017 she became one of the first Flowetic instructors in the country and is extremely excited to be able to give everyone the chance to feel like a dancer no matter what previous skill level. Emma is thrilled to be working with such a brilliant and passionate team and hopes that there is something for everyone to be able to enjoy and get healthy from.

Clare Nicholas

ChaSamba and PiYo Instructor

Clare has been dancing since the age of 3 and began her training at Diane Gulliford School Of Dancing in Poole. She continued her professional and full time training at Performers College in Essex from 2007-2010. Since graduating Clare has performed in a variety of shows, events and productions with different companies, as well as gaining qualifications in teaching dance and instructing fitness classes/ personal training. Experienced in creating and choreographing class (and children’s party/hen party) routines, which not only promotes fitness, but also provides an enjoyable experience for participants. Also successfully adapting routines for all age groups, genders and abilities. (Including seniors plus adults and children with learning difficulties). Clare currently works full time as a group exercise instructor/dance teacher/choreographer and in her time outside of work auditions and accepting dance contracts, continuing with her dance teaching studies in Bournemouth. Clare still performs with her local dance and burlesque troupes and competes in Latin American and Ballroom Dance.

Suzie Sheard

Pilates and Tap Instructor

Suzie has always been interested in health and fitness and has been a dancer since as long as she can remember. Suzie loves how dance, yoga, pilates and other fitness classes have expanded her knowledge and concept of what a healthy mind and body really is. She believes that having a healthy mind and body makes you better at whatever you want to do – whether it is a particular sport, your job, your family life, social life, or just trying to become happier and more stress-free. Suzie has been a student of dance, yoga, pilates and other fitness methods for over 20 years, and now wants to share what she loves whilst continuing to learn.

As previous Director of Liberatus School of Performing Arts, Suzie taught Contemporary dance to aspiring dancers. I was also in charge of the Higher National Diploma qualification where I taught anatomy, fitness, nutrition and injury prevention. As well as holding a BA (Hons) in Theatre Dance, I also have my PGCE, ISTD Associate Modern, Fitness Instructors Certificate, am a certified Les Mills Instructor in BODYATTACK, BODYBALANCE and BODYJAM, Zumba certificate, Diploma in Yoga, and STOTT Pilates Certified.

Suzie’s classes are a fusion of all my knowledge and experience. She likes to focus on precision and quality of movement as well as having fun! Suzie joins the SFS team to teach our Adult Tap and Pilates classes whilst Erica takes time out from teaching due to a complicated foot injury.

Lara Stopps

HIIT and Kettlebells Instructor

Lara entered into the fitness industry later in life and has been a fitness professional for the past 2.5 years. As a qualified personal trainer and class instructor, Lara loves all things strength and cardio and thrives on encouraging people of any age to find a love for exercise. Being in her 40’s Lara has a family and lives in Tisbury, making the most of the surrounding countryside walking her dog and lacing up her trainers to go for a run. Loving a challenge Lara has completed a half and full marathon, Playtex moonwalk, although her toughest challenge to date is being a mother of twins! In the future, Lara would love to climb Mount Kilimanjaro which is a challenge on her bucket list. Lara shall be joining the SFS Team teaching our HIIT and Kettlebells classes.

Join the SFS Team…

We are always looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our existing team of instructors. As an SFS instructor, you will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality lessons and the Health & Safety and supervision of all who attend your class/es.

Applicants should have an appropriate certification in the exercise/dance class they would be looking to teach, an up to date CPR (first aid) certificate and Public Liability Insurance.
Applicants that hold a recognised level 2 or above qualification in dance or fitness will be at an advantage. As some of our classes include children aged 12+ applicants would be required to obtain a basic DBS (former CBR) certificate if they do not already hold one. The hourly rate would be dependent upon experience/qualifications, classes taught and class numbers each week.
